Session Fee
My headshot sessions are $175, and generally lasts 1.5-2hrs.
You will receive between 200-300 images on disc from your session, and anywhere between 3-4 looks.
I will keep your images on a hard drive for 3 months after your shoot, but if you lose your disc after the 3 months, there is no guarantee I will be able to provide you with your images.
The Session
Whether you're in need of a new commercial shot, something to ramp up your website or social media pages, or that engaging theatrical look, we'll work together to plan out the best approach to capturing these images. For actors, I'm a firm believer that YOU are your brand, and your individual personality needs to shine through - Pair that up with characters that fit well into your repertoire to create something that a casting director can grab hold of.
I'm very hands on and vocal in each session. I'll be coaching you through the shoot to get every shot possible. I love if the actor comes in with a clean slate and is willing to play and throw themselves in 100%. There's really no need as far as preparing mentally for your session, so don't sweat it, we'll be discovering and creating as we go. That being said, if you have something prepared or ideas that you want to bring to the table, I'm absolutely open to collaborating and want to hear what you have up your sleeve.
My sessions usually tend to last for 1.5 - 2hrs. I generally don't limit to how many looks we want to shoot, but most of the time it ranges between 3-4 looks. I shoot until I feel like we've got the shots we need within each look, which has no number, it can range anywhere between 100-200 shots taken per each look. By the end of the session, I've usually shot around 600-700 images, which will narrow down to 200-300 images that prove to be the best candidates to pull from for your portfolio. You'll be given your best images!
If you decide to choose me as your photographer, you're agreeing to collaborate and work with me throughout the session. If you feel like you are not getting the shots you need, then please convey that to me, so we can adjust the session to work best for you. I really only want the best for you. Leaving happy and getting the shots you want is what's most important.
Clothing
I suggest bringing an array of choices. Anywhere between 5-10 different options for clothing is great! If you think your wardrobe is running a bit light, this is the perfect excuse to go out and treat yourself to some new wears!
Bring anything from tank tops, spaghetti straps, jackets, button ups, to business apparel. Bright colors to dark colors. We'll try to stay away from heavy patterns, but other than that I'm up for trying anything! Also, bring things you feel great wearing. I want you to feel good. So if it's something you wouldn't wear and you feel weird wearing it, then no sense bringing it.
Hair & Makeup
I work with several different makeup artists. Each ranging between $125-$225. Generally, it is $175 for 3 looks and an additional $25 per look afterwards. The makeup artists are freelance, and will require payment on day of shoot in cash. We can try to work within your price range, so feel free to let me know what you range is and we can discuss options and book the right makeup artist for you.
If you do not require hair/makeup in your session, we can discuss that option as well.
I usually don't recommend hair/ makeup for men, but if you prefer, it's available.
Refunds and cancellations
There is a no refund policy. If however, after the shoot you are unhappy with the shots you've been provided, you can return for another session within 30 days of your shoot for a discounted price.
Cancelling. I get it, auditions come up. As an actor myself I understand it can get hectic. I do require at least 24hrs notice ahead of time if there will be a cancellation. If you reschedule I require a $100 deposit, which will be applied to your session fee, and will not be refunded if you are to cancel a second time.
Retouching
I will provide retouches on 2 photos, included in your price. Anything after will be $20 per image for retouch. There is a plethora of retouching businesses in L.A, and your free to have your photos retouched at your preferred spot. I do recommend Argentum Photo Lab for retouching as well. I do ask that if you get your retouches done somewhere else that you have somewhere reputable, because at the end of the day your final image reflects me and my business, so wacky saturation applied by a friend of a friend doesn't reflect well for me. Thanks!
